Digital cameras are becoming more and more accessible and transferring photos to a computer can be done even by novice users. In time, digital images will pile up on your hard drive and take up all the free space. The best solution is to organize the files and store them on a removable drive. This is where StudioLine Photo Classic comes in. You can use it to archive and manage digital photos, edit their metadata, make visual adjustments and much more.

It takes about a minute to download the program's setup file, with a modern day Internet connection. The installation process is slightly faster and it does not involve complex settings. You can launch the software right away, without rebooting your computer or installing prerequisite tools.

StudioLine Photo Classic allows you to import images from local or network folders, removable drives or digital cameras. Once you import your pictures, the software will send them to a database. You can specify the database's path yourself, when you launch the program for the first time. Furthermore, you can decide how to handle the images, when importing them from certain sources. Depending on your settings, the program will copy or move the images to the database folder, when you import them, but it may ask for confirmation when you import the pictures from a CD or other removable media.

Imported images are displayed as large thumbnails, in the central region of the interface. You can organize your photos on the left side of the interface and make various adjustments on the right side. You may create folders, in a tree structure, on the left side of the window and populate them with pictures, by clicking and dragging one or more thumbnails. An image toolbox, a timeline, archive filters and other features can be displayed in the same area, by clicking a series of navigation tabs.

The image toolbox contains numerous predefined effects, which you may apply by dragging and dropping them over your pictures. Once applied, effects can be fine tuned, on the right side of the window, where you can also view and edit metadata, descriptions and classifications. When you modify a picture, you can switch to a "before and after" view mode, for a side by side comparison, between original and edited images.

The software can generate web galleries with your images. It allows you to choose from a variety of templates, edit them or preview them on your web browser. It is also possible to upload web galleries to web or FTP servers. If you take your time to study the interface, you will find many more useful features. Compressing the database, to save disk space, burning images on a CD or DVD, exporting them in other formats or creating and modifying geotags are just a few examples.

Pros

StudioLine Photo Classic comes with numerous tools for organizing and modifying pictures. It allows you to edit their metadata and geotags, categorize and rate them and more. You can also generate web galleries and upload them to a web or FTP server.

Cons

There are no serious drawbacks to mention. StudioLine Photo Classic provides you with everything you need to organize pictures, share them and save disk space, in a fast and comfortable fashion.
